Who We Are
An independent, non-profit volunteer organization, the BLF was founded in 1974 by Doris Hass and a group of other concerned citizens. Now, as then, the Foundation enables members of the Boulder community to support their Library through tax-deductible gifts.
The Foundation’s directors are chosen from a diverse background, ethnically, economically and professionally. The current directors are:

The Foundation honors Doris Hass with a special designation, Founder’s Chair, in grateful recognition of her inspired work on the Foundation’s behalf for more than three decades.

Financial Information
The Foundation is an IRS 501(c)(3) designated non-profit organization. All donations are fully tax deductible to the extent permitted by federal and state law.
Unless specifically designated for current expenses, donations are invested in a fund managed by the Foundation. The capital investment is carefully managed to provide a sound fiscal basis for the future.
