|“Mine be it to have contributed to the enlightenment and the joys of the mind, to the things of the spirit, to all that tends to bring . . . sweetness and light. I hold this the noblest possible use of wealth.”
Donors to the BLF support not only a vast array of Library programs and activities, but also the vision of Andrew Carnegie, who endowed some 2,500 libraries throughout the English-speaking world at a cost of more than $56 million. As Carnegie explained in his autobiography, “It was from my own early experience that I decided there was no use to which money could be applied so productive of good . . . as the founding of a public library in a community which is willing to support it as municipal institution.”
To those community members who have supported our library through generous contributions to the BLF, we say “THANK YOU!”
To all others, we say, “PLEASE JOIN US!”
Contributions are acknowledged on our donor page. Contributions of $500 entitle the donor to a plaque on a seat in the Library’s Canyon Theater. Major donors are entitled to a plaque above the Arapahoe entrance to the Main Library. Please contact the Foundation for more information.
